The new series of a 90s classic starts on Sky One tonight. Regrettably I do not have Sky One anymore since Virgin Media dropped it, so I’ll have to hope somebody uploads it to teh interwebz, but I’d love to check it out. I always loved Gladiators.
Did I mention I was spending too much money?
My latest batch of post arrived over the last couple of days… here’s what I’ve acquired this week…
My Sega Outrun T-shirt from King of Games (complete with a cool ziplock bag and Fantasy Zone postcard!), Anatomy for the Artist book (spiralbound edition), School Rumble vol 2 DVD, and Project Twinbee, original fan compositions for the awesome Twinbee series!
Ah My Goddess season 2 vol 1, and FLCL vol 1 on DVD… sweeet.
Also… Doctor Who: The Dalek Invasion of Earth (DVD, William Hartnell) and volume 11 of the Yakitate Japan manga arrived this morning. Awesome =D
Bye bye, money :-p
Wii bargain alert!

GAME is currently selling Ghost Squad for £14.99 on their website, as well as NiGHTS for £12.99!
Just thought those Sega bargains were worth mentioning.
Also, whilst I’m on a Wii moment… 1up gave Spielberg’s “Boom Blox” an A+ score, citing it as the “best use of the Wii yet“! I wasn’t planning on getting this, but I’m now kind of tempted to pick it up…
I’m just kind of spending a LOT of money on games right now. Cheap games = less money =(
Battle Phantasia demo on Japanese Playstation Store!

If you’ve got your Japanese PSN account all set up on your PS3 (and if not, why not?), pop onto there now to find a playable demo of Arc System Works’ latest game, Battle Fantasia. With three story-mode battles and a VS CPU mode, Battle Fantasia is a sort of RPG/Beat’em-up hybrid, with bright, cute visuals mixed in with intense Guilty Gear-esque gameplay.
Animated cutscenes tell the story, similar to how Disgaea’s story is played out, albeit slightly more alive. The characters are charming, if not particularly original.
I’m looking forward to the full release, although I’m not sure a Western release is confirmed yet. It hits Japan on the 29th of the month.
Disgaea 3 News :)

Siliconera reports that Nippon Ichi is opening a European branch of NIS, with the imaginative title of NIS Europe. Hopefully this will lead to quicker releases for N1 titles over here in the UK and Europe!
There’s also been a Disgaea 3 update on the Japanese version, with 10 extra unlockable characters. That’s kind of cool!
So, has anyone else imported, are you sticking it out til the English language version?
Quick update about the anime I’ve been watching :-p
Kamen no Maid Guy
Comedy anime about a brother and sister who get two maids to protect and look after them from their wealthy grandfather. However, one of the maids is a samurai-type guy. Big, brash, and violent. Only understands physical punishment. Seems fun, only seen one ep so far.
Kanokon
Romantic/Ecchi/Comedy… seems like it’ll be a “harem” anime of sorts, but all the girls seem to turn into animals. By episode two the kid’s already being doted on by a fox girl and a wolf girl. Silly, fun, and more than a little risque!
ToLoveRu
Romantic/Comedy/Sci-fi. Alien girl falls from sky, young guy accidentally asks her out and gets engaged to be married. Wait, isn’t this just Urusei Yatsura? It’s…. rather damn similar. But with more nudity. Could be worth sticking with, but it’s rather generic so far. I bet it’s based on an eroge.
Hatenkou Yuugi
Just seen episode one, seems to be a fantasy-ish supernatural dark comedy. Sort of like Death Note meets Slayers? Hard to describe!
Recently finished: They Are My Noble Masters (fun butler anime), Minami-ke Okawari (awesome follow up series to the just as awesome original Minami-ke).
