Anime Figure Spotlight: GIFT Yoko

Yoko

Got the cute Gift Yoko figure on Friday. This is a huge 1/5 scale figure, it’s very chunky and has a good weight to it. Yoko is from the anime series Gurren Lagann, and prefers to wear clothes that don’t hinder her in combat. This figure features her in her trademark bikini outfit, fixing her hair.

ITT we create Magazine Ads for Games.

I’m participating in an EPIC THREAD over at NeoGAF. It’s basically a thread where every couple of days, a new game/series/console is the theme, and forum goers are asked to create fake magazine ads for that product. It’s fun, and there’s a lot of original stuff. 61 pages of it so far, even. I’ve participated in every one at least once, I think, so I’m going to see if I can compile my creations here. Some of them will have 3 or even 4 ads… So yeah. 56k Warning and all that :-p

So without further ado, enjoy:

Was it REALLY September last time I updated this damned blog? I’m losing it, I really am. *sigh*

Maybe if I knew people were reading this I’d had incentive.

I’m spent!!

Woow, a month since I last posted! Sorry, if anyone actually reads this, for not updating much. Yadda yadda, same old story. Anyway…

Stuff

I finally took the plunge and got myself an Xbox 360 Elite console to replace my old Premium Pro 20gig machine. It’s nice to have an Xbox with a working power button! It’s about 200% quieter than my old Monster Xbox 360, and a lovely shade of matt black that almost looks velvet-like! Woo ;) Now I just need to migrate my data from my old 20gig HDD to my shiny new 120gigger! #^_O#

Oh yeah, the two 360 games there were free with the machine. Skate is awesome, but I can’t get to grips with those dual analogue controls. I keep pressing X or Y when trying to jump, I forget that you have to “ollie” or “nollie” with the sticks. Also, they keep misusing the English language, like, they’ll say “That’s a sick jump!” and I’ll be like, “What?”. Man. Skater slang is weird.

Ohh yeah, and my Lala Satalin Deviluke figure by Good Smile Company arrived <3 <3 <3 Pics after the break ^o^

Got myself a couple of Haruhi Suzumiya figures to go along with my current Haruhi Bunny and Mikuru Waitress figures =)

Aren’t these just the CUTEST?

The first one is a Figma, I think this is from Max Factory. It’s fully posable, and comes with loads of spare pieces, including a few facial expressions! The stand is great and allows you to pose her almost any way you can imagine :)

Haruhi Figma

The second is a Nendoroid, by Good Smile. This is a ulta-cute figure, again with spare faces and a couple of other bits in the box. Sadly, the stand is absolutely useless – the head weighs a ton and I wish you luck making her stand of her own accord! Mine has taken up residence in a green tofu tank.

Haruhi Nendoroid

If you’re in the market for a Haruhi figure, I’d absolutely suggest heading the Figma route. All your fave characters are represented, and you can surely come up with some imaginative dioramas ;)

Goku

I’ve bought a couple of PS3 games this month so far. I got the Japanese RPG-Beatem-Up “Battle Fantasia”, which is pretty cool. The art style is fresh and free, and there’s a cool HP system with the standard Arc battle-style. The menus are all in English too, so it’s a really friendly import title. There’s loads of chat in the Story mode, though, so most importers will want to skip that!

The other game I got is Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit. This is a fun game that is extremely faithful to the anime, but I can’t help but think I’ve played it all before in the Budokai games. I think it’s time we had a Dragon Ball game with a totally original storyline, get some new officially canon characters written in by Toriyama… make it a whole new saga. That would rock.

Both games are worth playing, but I’d say DBZ wins for me, just because it’s so nostalgic.
